In general, an affidavit can be thought of as an oath or a statement that is used as proof anywhere. It proves that something exists, and everything it says is true.
A person who takes oaths, like a notary public or commissioner of oaths, verifies that the person who signed the statement is who they say they are.

ONLINE AFFIDAVITS REQUIREMENTS
